Door Buddy {Review & Giveaway}

September 7, 2016 by spencerthegoldendoodle 13 Comments

Hi Guys! Callie the Cat here and I’m excited to do this product review!

To all the cats out there, wouldn’t you love to just hang a big sign saying “No Dogs Allowed” where your litter box and food are? Is there a dog in your life that keeps waking you up during your nap time? Or is there a little human running around trying to eat your food or pull your tail? Well, I have the product for you, it’s call Door Buddy!

The Door Buddy allows cats to come in and out of the room as they want, but stopping babies and dogs in their tracks.

So where can you use the Door Buddy:

  • Laundry Room
  • Bathroom
  • Closet
  • Office
  • Cat’s Favorite Room
  • Anywhere that has a Door

In our house there is already a “cat door” going in to the laundry room where my food and litter box are. But, my mom was excited to attach this to her office door. In the office there are lots of treats and toys she doesn’t want Spencer to get into. Plus it is one of my favorite rooms to sleep in. Prior to this product she would close the door keeping both Spencer and I out. Which isn’t fair, I’m not the one who makes a mess when our humans are gone!

I bet you are wondering how it works. It’s so easy even a dog could figure it out! This product installs in seconds and requires no tools! Simply:

  1. Remove paper backing from parts.
  2. Stick parts onto door and door frame.
  3. Insert hook into latch to lock unit.
  4. Adjust strap to desired length.

I know what you are thinking, “But Callie, couldn’t my dog or child push against it hard enough it would pop right off?” I was thinking the same thing! So, I enlisted one of my humans to push against the door as hard as she could to see if it would pop off! And surprisingly it all stayed in place! I also tested it onSpencer and teased him enough to try to get him to come into the room. The second the door came to a stop, Spencer stopped pushing and started crying! 🙂

The Door Buddy has been up for over 2 weeks and there hasn’t been on problem or mess to speak of!

Other features I love about this product:

  • It is made in the USA.
  • Inexpensive - only costing $14.97 (plus S&H) per door strap.
  • Free shipping for orders over $30.
  • Comes with a 30 day money back guarantee.
  • Comes with an extra 3M strip if needed.
  • 4 different colors to choose from.
    • Grey Chevron
    • Blue Pinstripe
    • Green Polka Dots
    • Caramel Lattice

Finally, one last thing I want to mention, this product helps keep air flowing in and out of the room. Whether it is summer time with the AC on or winter and the heat is on or the window are wide open, air is still allowed to flow in and out of the room. This may not seem like much, but we definitely have notice and love this added feature!

Here is a short video showing how the Door Buddy keeps Spencer out, yet allowing me to come and go as I please!

I would use it on the door to the chinchilla room. The dogs love going in there and eating chin droppings…..yuck!

i would use it to keep my middle child from opening the door. she knows how to open it but does not know how to close it, so the bugs get in the house. when i close my bedroom door to clean up, the girls know how to open the door. would be great to keep the girls out when i am trying to clean up a room.

I would like to use it on my front door so I can answer without having to wrangle both dogs. LOL!

We’d love to try it on the office door/kitty room, so Mom could get rid of the baby gate! 😊

  • Kat Fin

Would love to try this out. Those baby gates are getting to be too much a hassle but this looks like it could do the trick!

Super idea. I could really use one.

Nice idea, but I think Bailie would bust through. She doesn’t let barriers stop her!

This is such a handy item to have, it can keep dogs out of so much trouble!

I would use these to keep the dogs out of the great room.

Out of the bathroom! I feed one cat there and he isn’t a climber so I can’t put his food up high. My poor senior dog has been crated her whole life because I can’t keep her from the cat food no matter where I put it. I’m hoping this works! Baby gates have been a failure and I was literally just this week trying to use a bungie cord to do the same thing as this strap!

We are trying to find a way to keep the dogs out of Sam’s room where her kitty litter is. I have my doubts that this would work with our beagle Cricket since she’s pretty determined and capable of getting anywhere a cat can get. But I’d like to give it a try anyway!
