I have been waiting all year to be able to flip the calendar to July. I was selected to be featured as Mr.July in RAGOM’s 2015 calendar.

As most of you know, RAGOM (Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota) is the organization that rescued my mom from a puppy mill while she was pregnant with my liter mates and myself.

MM: Birthday Celebration

Hello Everyone!
On Saturday I turned the big 7! With all the hustle and bustle of the weekend I’m sharing my birthday celebrations today. 
First I hope my litter mates had a wonderful birthday was well. From the left you have Maggie, then me, Tanner, Charlie, Leia, Gideon, Sebastian, Abby (RIP), and Kraelyn.

This picture was taken shortly after my mom adopted me from RAGOM. RAGOM is the rescue organization that rescued my mom from a puppy mill. When she was placed in foster care it is then they found out she was pregnant with me and my litter mates.  
So on to the good stuff. This year my birthday theme was Star Wars. My humans hooked me up with a Yoda and Chewbacca toys, as well as a Star Wars hoodie. 

Now I have something to wear on May 4th. (May 4th is National Star Wars day, May the Forth Be With You. I know my humans have turned me into a geek, but I love it.)
 As you can see, I love my toys verses my birthday bone. But then again, toys make annoying sounds and bones don’t.

I’m so excited to see what the age of 7 has in store for me. This past year has been full of great memories, lots of firsts, and amazing fur-iends. Thank you to all of my followers for being part of my life. If it wasn’t for you all, I wouldn’t be the dog I am today.

Fit Friday: Fly Ball and Lure Course

In the last two weeks I have learned about two different sports for dogs, flyball and lure coursing. I have never seen or heard about these events before, but I have now witnessed flyball and was able to try out lure coursing myself.

The first one is Flyball. Here is the definition according to Wikipedia: Flyball is a dog spot in which teams of dogs race against each other from a start/finish line, over a line of hurdles, to a box that releases a tennis ball to be caught when the dog presses the spring-loaded pad, then back to their handlers while carrying the ball. This past weekend at the Ragom fund raising event they had a lure course for us to try out. And of course I was going to try it.

Lure coursing is a sport for dog that involves chasing a mechanically operated lure around a set course. That day to the grass was long, which made it hard to see. After I got the swing of things I had a blast. Check out this video of my trying out lure coursing.
These two sporting events definitely would help keep us K9s in tip top shape. I would encourage everyone to try either event out. Fly ball does take some practice but lure coursing takes little to no practice.

Mischief Monday: GOLDZILLA

Imagine going to a fundraising event for an organization that rescues Golden Retrievers and Golden Mixes. What would you expect to see? That’s right, lots and lots of golden fur that have been saved through the years! 

As most of you know Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota or RAGOM is the rescue organization that rescued my mom from a puppy mill and when she was placed in foster care they found out she was pregnant with my 8 litter mats and myself.

As the county’s number 1 Golden Retriever rescue group, RAGOM  has rescued and re-homed over 6,000 Golden Retrievers and Golden Mixes. This organizations is based in Minnesota, but they have rescued dogs in North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, and more. 

I was so excited to attend this event with my pal, Carlie, another RAGOM rescue and my grandparents sweet puppy. More on this event this week!

Goldzilla

Everyday around 11 am my humans get present in this thing called a mailbox. But, today, I received an awesome postcard reminding me that the Goldzilla event is coming up soon.
Goldzilla is RAGOM’s (Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota, the company that rescued my mom from a puppy mill) annul fundraising event. I am so excited to finally be able to attend this fun, furry event.

My goal is to raise $250.00 for the Goldzilla. Right now, with the help of many, we have raised $130.00! If you would like to donate to this organization that rescues Golden and Golden Mixes from Minnesota and the surrounding states please click HERE.
