Hello Everyone! Today, I joining a great cause and helping shine a light on pet adoption. As many of you know, this is a topic near and dear to my heart as both me and River are rescue pups.
Did You Know:
Each year, over 2.7 million pets lose their lives without ever finding their forever homes.
Did you know that only 30% of all pets in the US come from rescue facilities?
I feel this topic is even more important in Minnesota, as many shelters have and continue to take in animals from hurricane affected areas. Our local shelter has taken in over 20 dogs recently from the Houston area. 20 dogs doesn’t sound like a lot but for a small, rural shelter this is a huge number. Thankfully, many volunteers and foster families have stepped up to help help these pups until forever homes can be found.
What is Remember Me Thursday?
Remember Me Thursday is a global awareness campaign uniting individuals and pet adoption organizations around the world as an unstoppable, integrated voice for orphan pets to live in forever homes, not die waiting for them.
On September 28, 2017, the entire world will share the importance of pet adoption and shine a light on all orphan pets waiting in shelters and rescues. In 2016, people using #RememberTheRescue and #RememberMeThursday reached nearly 340 million people on social media.
Anyone and everyone can get involved and help!
